TPO, EPDM and PVC are the three major types of Single-Ply membranes

Single-Ply membranes have been around for over 30 years and have gained significant market share.  In 2010, they represented 59.3% of reroofing (up from 35.8% in 2000) and in 2020, Single-Ply membranes represented 78% of reroofing (up from 59.3% in 2010). The biggest advantage to these single-ply systems are their light weight per square foot. This advantage makes them an ideal choice for retro-fitting over the existing roof. This allows for quicker installations, less disruptions to the building owner and cost savings. Many single-ply membrane are white and provide superior reflectivity which helps reduce A/C costs during the summer months.
